Gili Trawangan
We did this trip to one of the Gili Islands on last December, this trip was a part of 14 flights in a couple of month, we caught plane from Denpasar to Mataram then boat from Bangsal Port to Gili Trawangan, return (that added two more flights
). Anyhow, pictures will tell u more, hence story behind them will make it even more interesting, here’s the story about the island and us………………..

I would like to show the island from afar first, this pic was taken from our diving boat, you can see white sands around the islad, Rinjanis mountain, and of course blue sky and the sea..something i dont see everyday.
Next, let’s take a closer look to the beach itself, it’s so clean and so white, and the water is so clear. This pic was taken from our restaurant hut, where i had the best pizza i have ever had. It was so tasty, crunchy, i just can’t find it in anywhere else.
And who’s here..ah that must be me, after a great snorkeling experience. In there you can do snorkeling right on every side of the beach. Me on this pic jumped into the water straight after i had my delicious lunch, it was near to our restaurant hut. And we were lucky to see a big cool turtle and had beautiful fishes bitting our fingers and fins. Unfortunately, he didn’t bring his underwater camera casing (well, if he did we still couldn’t use it because i’ve lost his camera in Singapore
ps. read “14 flights in a couple of months part 2″).
Now, we are looking at main road on this island, yep that is the main road. In there you won’t find any kind of vehicles (maybe one or two motorcycles), public transportation there is only horse cart called Kudomo. It means less pollution more horse’s poo.
Ah yes, besides Kudomo we can hire a bicycle to ride around the island, will take about one hour and 15 minutes to ride it around. We did that and i kind of regretted it, because i am not really an athletic type, on that pic i was really upset at him for making me ride that bike, was soo exhausting, haha. But it was worthy though, you will find a completely different athmosfere on the other side of the island. A quite, beautiful, serene place.
Just like any other small island or city, Gili Trawangan is not a 24 hours place. But night view in there is something you cannot ignore. With a la carte -pick your own fish/prawn sea food restaurants along the side of the main road, not to mention the sound of night wave (which is a lil louder) and chilly ocean breeze and good music too, well i must say it’s quite romantic.
On my first picture, we have seen Gili Islands from the sea. On this pic we see Lombok Island from above. You can see that it’s surrounded by high cliff, maybe not on every side of the island but i find it, interesting. I felt sad when leaving this Island.
After we’ve landed in Bali, we went to Kuta Beach just to catch last sunset while we were there. And look what we found. Hmm,,can you see the difference between Gili Island’s beach and this beach?
We’re longing to go to Gili Island again..
